Little Signs of Hope

Various philosophers and gardeners... and garden philosophers have noted that gardening is an act of hope.  You plant a tiny seed or bulb in the fall because you have infinite hope in the spring.

I took a walk around the garden the other day, and boy are things popping here.  Some are more obvious...

Iris reticulata and snowdrops

Let's zoom in on that fabulous iris reticulata.  They're tiny little fellows, but their coloration is stunning!  I'm planning more for this fall.

And, finally, how about this self-sown columbine in a tiny crack in my driveway?
